Don't Look Now was originally an (excellent) Daphne Du Maurier short story. The film is an outstanding adaptation that expands on the original text in extraordinary, stunningly cinematic ways, and yes, it was critically acclaimed during the original release. Since then, it has more than stood the test of time. I highly, highly recommend checking it out. :)
