Great article. Nightmare Alley is a gem.

Double Indemnity is my all-time favourite noir, for the record. I also have a bit soft spot for Scarlet Street, Kiss Me Deadly, The Big Sleep, Touch of Evil, and The Maltese Falcon from the classic noir era. Post classic era, I'm a big fan of "modern" noirs like The Long Goodbye, The Last Seduction, Gone Girl, etc.
