Employment law in the UK is thankfully rather stricter than that of the US, protecting employees from some abuses, but still... I'm thrilled to have made my escape from corporate culture. It was a cesspool of narcissistic, soulless, cowardly, backstabbing, sychophantic, ignorant, greedy, cruel, and above all clueless nitwits. The people who did the actual work, who knew their craft and knew what they were talking about, I have nothing but respect for, but management? Another story entirely.
