Entering an ongoing conversation where people are obviously engaged in a spoiler-filled discussion and expecting them to stop just because you wanted to join in is one thing, and the person joining is then in the wrong. But inflicting unsolicited spoilers on people is another matter entirely.
In fairness, I get that you aren't advocating for thoughtless TwitTok posts and their ilk, but I still think it isn't difficult to show a smidgen of consideration and put a spoiler warning at the head of an article if it requires it. People put "trigger warnings" for things all the time (which I often roll my eyes at, but tolerate) so why not show the same consideration to the spoiler-phobic? It isn't a big effort to do so.
I think we will have to agree to disagree, as you say.
