Entirely agreed. There's nothing mean-spirited here at all. It's an affectionate spoof.

I think my favourite bit is Signourney Weaver's dismay at the "badly written" crunchy-choppy thing. Or perhaps the bit when that teenage boy who is helping them is forced to take out the rubbish by his mother, who "doesn't appreciate the seriousness of the Captain's predicament" (or words to that effect). So funny.
