Evidently, given that we're talking about Legends of the Fall here. It may look lovely cinematography wise, and have some fine acting talent, but the script is woeful. It took several films for Ed Zwick to obtain absolution from me (he has made some good films elsewhere - Glory, Blood Diamond, The Last Samurai, for instance).
