Exactly. I must confess I rather eye-rolled when I saw the title of that article (though I didn't read it) as I've known quite a few decent men who have stuck by their sick wives to the bitter end. Such generalisations are an insult to their fortitude, loyalty, and love (and by the way, I have also known women with equal fortitude, loyalty, and love caring for sick husbands).
