Excellent article. I dislike Encanto and am unrepentant about the fact (my original review is here), regardless of the various people who insist I don't understand the film because I don't understand the generational trauma thing. I did understand it by the way. I just thought films like Coco do a much more satisfying job of exploring such culturally specific issues.
