Excellent article. That's why I went to a job for over twenty years that I enjoyed to a point (bringing a part of my self to work, so to speak), sometimes more than others, and eventually left a couple of years ago (I was made redundant when new owners took over, along with huge swathes of the company). But whilst I worked there, I developed a parallel writing career, which I stepped into full time once I left, because that was always my long term goal.
