Excellent article with many great points. One thing I would add is that Britain has a long, rich history of satirical comedy that goes over the heads of some Americans (though not my American friends, I must add). We have always mercilessly mocked our political leaders, monarchs, and others, often in cartoons. No one is above having the piss taken out of them. That culture doesn't exist in quite the same way in the US, which is why certain Americans took offence at the "Trump balloons" and the like, when Trump visited the UK during his presidency.
