Excellent. Thank you Mark. I think the mountain landscapes were indeed stunning, and the performances were very good. I just think it went on a bit, but even so, I did find it moving.

A handful of my favourite Italian films: La Strada, Bicycle Thieves, Rome Open City, Rocco and His Brothers, Cinema Paradiso, The Great Silence, The Battle of Algiers, The Conformist, and obviously anything directed by Sergio Leone (A Fistful of Dollars, etc) or Dario Argento (Suspiria, The Bird with the Crystal Plumage). :)
