Excellent piece. I'm a big fan of A-ha. They are not (as a lot of Americans mistakenly believe) a one-hit wonder band. In the UK, Take on Me didn't even get to number 1 (it peaked at number 2, annoyingly). However, their next single, the barnstorming track The Sun Always Shines on TV, did get to number 1. Other top ten hits in the latter end of the 1980s in the UK included: Hunting High and Low (amazing track that could have been a Bond song - especially the single verison), The Living Daylights (which was a Bond song, although weirdly I prefer the album mix on the Stay on These Roads album to the version in the film), Cry Wolf, I've Been Losing You (amazing song, and very dark lyrics), You Are the One, and The Blood That Moves the Body. There are several great album tracks too (in fact, Hunting High and Low and Scoundrel Days are both great albums). :)
