Excellent point. I must read this one of these days (I've only ever seen the Stanley Kubrick film, which I liked - I ignored the Adrian Lyne version).

As a general point: I am increasingly irritated by the lack of critical thinking in people who can't understand the difference between depicting something and endorsing something. Lolita would appear to be a case in point.
