…m, and ones like Rubin and Ed that are so fantastic they enter the world misunderstood. Either way, both unquestionably require a filmmaker who is relentless in their vision and dogged in making sure it’s executed. In some ways a cult filmmaker is one of the truest artists because they persist despite massive criticism, despite lack of funds, and — often enough – despite even an audience.
