Fantastic article. It would be amusing perhaps to write a flip-side piece listing films that are almost anti-inspirational. For example, Capote, which details Truman Capote's composition of his masterpiece In Cold Blood, and the appalling cost to his soul, so to speak (he never finished another novel afterwards).
Speaking of Woody Allen, Bullets Over Broadway is another gem from his back catalogue that deals with writing, though again, it would be almost anti-inspirational, as the writer's character arc in that is learning that he isn't an artist after all (and happily accepting the fact, because he's fallen in love instead).
