Favourite singles from the year I turned 12, namely 1987 (not sure if all these made it to the US).

NOTE: I make absolutely no apology for the sheer poptastic nature of some of these, even though some of them I suspect you hate. Admittedly, in some cases, sheer nostalgia is a factor in my liking. But I never, ever apologise for the songs I like, and I'm not going to start now.

Mel & Kim - Respectable

MAARS - Pump up the Volume

New Order - True Faith

Madonna - La Isla Bonita (single version)

A-ha - The Living Daylights (single version)

Wet Wet Wet - Sweet Little Mystery

Whitney Houston - I Wanna Dance With Somebody

Terence T'rent D'Arby - If You're Letting Me Stay

Boy George - Everything I Own

The Smiths - Sheila Take a Bow

Michael Jackson - Bad

Bee Gees - You Win Again

Starship - Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now
