Fellow Generation X member here. I may have elevated apathy into an art form. I may eye-roll at some of the more extreme elements of the left. But after growing up in a strict, mostly conservative evangelical culture that told me I was desensitised to human suffering for liking horror, I know just as much if not more lunacy came from the right, and I am not going to stick up for them now.
