First of all, I want to say I absolutely loathe minimum viable product culture. It is an anathema to creatives, and I and have particularly seen it's insidious influence in the television world I recently left after 23 years.

Minimum viable product absolutely doesn't work for writing, as you say, and I despair of those who wish to comodify writing in this manner. Away with them.

As to my own writing, my novels go through many drafts and iterations before I release them. It is my policy to leave gaps of at least several months between writing drafts, to get proper perspective. Then I require beta feedback, developmental edits, etc, etc... There is so much that goes into presenting the final product and it absolutely cannot be rushed.
