Firstly, Dolores Umbridge is, I agree, a masterfully written villain, partly because unlike Dark Lord Voldemort who represents pantomime take-over-the-world evil, we've all encountered an Umbridge at some point. I wrote about Umbridge here, if you're interested.

I'm also a big fan of Whiplash - a terrific film.

I'd add that I never hate actors who play great villains. Rather, I am impressed by their skill (and the skill of the writers and directors). Great article. :)
