Firstly, I know we disagree a lot, but I enjoy your writing, and respect your views. There are a lot of people with views I don't respect, so that's a big deal. Also, you seem pretty cine-literate to me, and should definitely give yourself a break, as you are still young and devouring film history. I'm still devouring it too. Believe it or not, I still have significant gaps in my film knowledge. My knowledge of African cinema and Bollywood is alarmingly sparse, for instance. I've seen key classics, but not so many deep cuts. With film, one is an eternal student.
