Great article. Foreshadowing is an extremely important skill for any mystery writer. Since mystery is a major part of almost all my novels and short stories (especially the gothic horror/thrillers and children's adventure novels), it's something I've cultivated over the past two decades. I wrote about this a little in my article on major plot twists too, when I talk about hiding in plain sight for instance.
