Frankly, if I don't see another new superhero film (Marvel or DC) for twenty years, or another Star Wars or Harry Potter film ever, I'll be perfectly happy with that. It's reached an insane saturation point and furthering the art of cinema, or even just well-crafted entertainment, has very little to do with any of it. It's a deeply depressing sacred cash cow that is crushing genuine innovation and creativity in Hollywood. New ideas and new stories are far too few and far between (though of course, outside mainstream Hollywood, cinema is as creative and incisive as ever).
