From memory, she's a lesbian in the novel, but Bond "converts" her. It's all a bit much, even for 1960s Bond. Leaving aside the sexual politics, as a plot point, it's also pretty silly, as the outcome hinges entirely on this.
For that reason, whilst I pinball between Goldfinger and From Russia with Love in terms of which is the best Bond film, these days I'm inclined towards the latter, as Bond's plans and actions are a lot more logical. Goldfinger is the more action-packed, yes, but From Russia with Love has a ton of Cold War atmosphere, and a more plausible plot.
