Funny you should say that. I've written an article (coming out soon) explaining my preference for solo cinemagoing for that precise reason, ie being alone in a crowd of strangers, yet also having a shared experience. But having said that, there have been plenty of times when I've been alone in the screen, and that's fine too. I am quite an introverted loner to be honest, and crave/need my alone time, especially for film viewing. However, each to their own, obviously. :)
