Given that I have outsourced my feelings to novels and films, I one hundred percent concur with this statement. If I'm crying at a film, I do not want to be consoled in any way, shape, or form. I couldn't cry when my father died (I was in too much shock), or even at his funeral (I was too concerned about my mother the whole time), but when I watched Departures and The Tree of Life a while afterwards, then I was in absolute floods.
