Good article. I rather enjoyed Black Swan. It isn't Darren Aronofsky's best film, but I always find his work agreeably divisive. I agree this isn't a subtle film. But sometimes a blunt instrument can be effective. Although it starts off as a more serious drama, this film takes a left turn into deranged, demented territory that fuses Cronenbergian body horror (with a dash of Dario Argento) with the more psychological aspects of the drama. I have to say I liked it, because I love the horror genre and appreciated the references.

All that said, the best film about ballet is still The Red Shoes, and I will brook no argument with that.
