Great advice. To be honest, my attitude when I joined was that even though I want to write and make a few pennies here, I'm paying for all this content, so I want to find all the good stuff. Commenting/highlighting just seemed like a natural outworking of that, and even though at times I might have thought it could become a means to an end, I ended up actually liking and befriending a handful of wonderful people (including yours truly), so really it all works out splendidly.
