Great anecdote about your parents. I sometimes think back to the what-if moments that would have erased me from existence. The most obvious one is that my father almost married someone else, but further back, my Jewish maternal grandmother fled Nazi Germany and came to the UK. If Hitler had won the war and got to the UK, she'd have been exterminated too, which also means I'd have never existed.
