Great anecdote. Obviously, I wasn’t there and can’t speak to his intentions, but I don’t personally think you did anything wrong particularly, in and of itself. I love having conversations about these sorts of subjects with anyone who wants to participate (and my wife, who gets plenty of them too, is quite happy for me to).

Obviously, flirting with malicious intent is another matter, but I don’t think you did. If anyone flirts like that with me, I’m typically oblivious, but my wife can spot it (it rarely happens - maybe twice in 24 years of marriage, at which point she warns me discreetly and I then distance myself from the person in question with extreme prejudice).
