Great essay. I consider Dr Strangelove one of the two greatest black comedies ever made (I can't choose between this and Kind Hearts and Coronets, to be honest).

The scene with Sellers on the phone to the Russian Premier is hysterical. And the "you'll have to answer to the Coca-Cola company" moment always cracks me up too. :)
