Great piece. My eldest is an ardent comic collector, and actually prefers the flimsy originals (in dust jackets) rather than the big paperback or hardback collections (though he has plenty of those too). Also, that scene in Unbreakable where Samuel L Jackson refuses to sell certain comics to a guy who has inadequate appreciation for their artistry? That's my son right there (ie the Samuel L Jackson character). I told him so when we watched the film. He guffawed and then agreed.
Still... I will make him aware of this Penguin business, and I daresay he'll fork out plenty of his hard-earned summer job money.
