Great to have you back Preeti. I always enjoy reading your musings.
Our relationships with the act of writing are all highly dependent on personality, temperament, and many other factors. I relate to the peeing metaphor to a point, but I prefer a breathing metaphor, because otherwise I'm a man perpetually pissing himself (for instance, if I'm out and about and have an idea, I have to scribble it down in a notepad then and there - which would be the equivalent of peeing myself in public, according to your metaphor). Then again, given how much this unnerves some people, perhaps the man-constantly-pissing-himself is a good metaphor for me too. I'm a literary incontinent, especially if in the process of writing a novel.
