Had a girl gone on and on about The Nightmare Before Christmas to me at that age, I'd have just got more and more interested, because I love that film (having great taste in books, films, music, etc is immensely attractive). But glad it worked for the purposes you needed at the time. Great anecdote, and yes, a wonderful film. :)
