Hahahahaha! Transformers for Best Picture, right?

I don't think Barbie is the most thought-provoking, especially compared with many of the other nominated films, for all sorts of reasons (see my reviews for the nominated films if you really want details). It certainly has a modicum of social comment amid the laughs, I enjoyed it, and I accept that it is popular, highly quoted, etc, but that doesn't necessarily make it more deserving of a Best Director nomination. I wouldn't have Maestro in there either, to be honest. I'd swap that one for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. :)
