Here's another winter film I consider a horror film, in effect: The Grey. I had a cold when I watched it in the cinema, and seeing those frigid snowy landscapes, icy rivers, and whatnot, as Liam Neeson et al are hunted by those wolves, just became all the more visceral as a result. :)
