Hi Tony - I've been on Medium since January 2021, mostly writing about film, though I also occasionally write about music, books, fiction writing, and share some of my own fiction from time to time (off this platform, my main focus is my novels). My expectations of Medium are modest (my work here is, if you'll forgive my use of an obscenity, a "side hustle"), and I am grateful for this platform for a number of reasons - not least the various other wonderful writers I've met and interacted with here.

I don't write articles about earnings (I'm rather old-fashioned in my beliefs about such things, believing they ought to remain private), but I must confess, I'm slightly bemused to note that my reads/views are down quite a bit over the past month (and as a consequence, earnings, which have otherwise been consistently about the same month to month over the last twelve months), despite no change in output strategy from me. At the same time, last month I had the greatest ever increase in followers. I must confess this apparent contradiction rather puzzled me.

Still, hopefully this was a blip. I look forward to seeing how the changes you are implementing will affect things in the future. Hopefully, people who love cinema (and the other subjects I write about) will be drawn to my work as usual, and my earnings will not take a nose dive of this kind again.
