I absolutely love this article. A brilliant response to the prompt, and exactly what I was looking for. :)

Some of my own thoughts on The Wizard of Oz:

1) Naturally it's an all-time favourite.

2) Margaret Hamilton Wicked Witch of the West is one of the greatest, most iconic screen villains of all time, up there with Darth Vader and Hannibal Lecter. She still terrifies children today, including my nephew. He was recently shown the film at my mother's house. Apparently he then objected to the green paint on the walls of his bedroom because it reminded him of the witch. Hahahahaha!

3) My favourite line in the film: "Hearts will never be practical until they can be made unbreakable."

4) I also have a ton of nostalgia attached to this film, as it was the first film my father showed me on our first colour television set in the mid 1980s. I'd not see the film before, and he'd told me (and my sister) he was simply buying a replacement black and white set as our old one was knackered (we weren't massively well off). However, when the film went into colour, my sister and I gasped. It was a great prank, and a wonderful surprise, seeing the film go into colour, and also realising at the same time he'd bought a colour set at long last. :)
