I actually gave it a rewatch recently - the new edit retitled "The Godfather Coda", which makes it sound like a spin-off side project in an attempt to render it less disappointing. But no matter how much Coppola tinkers with the material (there are some modest improvements, to be fair, plus the reinstatement of one graphic bloody moment originally trimmed to satisfy the MPAA), it is still a band aid on a third degree burns victim.
