I actually think this film has a clearly anti-Christian agenda. It goes about systematically dismantling the central characters beliefs concerning heaven, hell, and so forth. As a believer, obviously I don't share such a worldview, but I do appreciate this film as a superbly acted and directed (and frequently bone-chilling) piece of work.
