I agree, although I still think The Empire Strikes Back has an amazing finale that's fully satisfying in it's own right, despite the cliffhanger (and obviously we did get a follow up with Return of the Jedi). But that's a subject for another article really: Why stories with cliffhangers still need to be independently satisfying in their own right. The Harry Potter books manage it, but certain other franchises do not. Will mull this one over...
