Fanfare…for pop culture. Maybe that will change. Maybe Fanfare can be part of that change. But as it stands, there is an inherent tension between what Medium is and what publications on Medium can be. (Is this what being caught between the moon and New York City feels like?)

I agree. In addition to what I write for Fanfare and film reviews, etc, I sometimes feel like I tug against Medium by publishing short stories, for instance. But I do find an audience for them, so it is worth it, for me at least. :)
