I agree that high-end television drama has had a renaissance this century - 24, The Wire, Battlestar Galactica, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, and so forth. And some of those are good. But cinema is different and for me still has the edge. I'd swap the whole of The Sopranos for one reel of Goodfellas.
