I agree that The West Wing is a political fantasy.

…tember 22, 1999, has made me think back on both the show and the time Indi and I spent watching it. We had both been political junkies since before we were even teenagers, so it was basically preordained that we would love it, especially since it was — most of the time, at least — an idealized version of American politics (six years after her passing, it looks more like fantasy than idealism).

I agree that The West Wing is a political fantasy. I would love it if America was really like that. It even shows the Republicans being honourable (the stuff with John Goodman). Great performances and a great series (I have all seven series on DVD in the Dillon Empire archives). :)
