I agree with the sentiment expressed in this article, but it is only relevant as far as mainstream Hollywood is concerned. There's a thriving independent American filmmaking scene, and outside Hollywood, there are many interesting films emerging in other markets. My top ten films of 2021 contained only one film funded by a major Hollywood studio (Dune).

Nonetheless, Hollywood is at the most creatively inert it has ever been, thanks to the Disney/Marvel monster. I agree. Enough is enough.
