I agree with the thrust of this. I'm not of the opinion that Barbie deserved a Best Picture nomination, let alone a Best Director nomination. However, Justine Triet absolutely deserved her nomination for Anatomy of a Murder.
Obviously views on this are subjective. I enjoyed Barbie, and like Gerwig as a filmmaker, but there were much better films last year.
