I am not a fan of Mr Snyder. I enjoyed 300 in a very basic, two-hour battle sort of way, and afterwards was only moderately fed up. That’s about as much praise as I can muster for any of his films. But in fairness to him, he is a better film director than Michael Bay. Damning with faint praise, no doubt, but it is worth remembering there are lower depths of incoherent, attention-span-of-a-goldfish CGI pornography to which one can sink.
