I am with Indiana Jones on the snakes thing. When my children were younger, we visited a zoo, and part of the trip involved attending a creepy crawly handling session. I didn't mind handling huge stick insects, or huge spiders, etc, but snakes? Yuck. I felt repelled, like oil and water or repelling poles of a magnet, and gave it straight back to the handler. It probably goes back to the Garden of Eden, but there's a reason for humans to be instinctively repelled by snakes, and after that, I decided not to question it further.
