I appreciate you being able to look at this issue objectively, despite your aversion. I think what bothers me - and what has always bothered me - is that for some idiotic reason I naively believe the winners ought to be the best (or, if candidates are equally good, a best) rather than it all being down to politics. Of course, sometimes Oscar does get it right, but horror has been shamefully overlooked, as has sci-fi, fantasy, and comedy for that matter. :)
