I blow hot and cold with Wes Anderson. His most recent film The French Dispatch was visually stunning but left me cold. However, I did like Moonrise Kingdom and The Grand Budapest Hotel.

I understand your frustration with Tarantino. I think his best films are still Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. As for Peter Jackson, I actually rather liked his remake of King Kong. No substitute for the original of course.
