I can't answer this, but when my children were much younger, people used to ask why they were so well-behaved. My response:
1) Read them Bible stories, but don't leave out the blood, gore, fire, and brimstone. Include all the smiting.
2) Show them frightening, traumatic films.
3) Do "dangerous" outdoor activities with them that would upset health and safety officials.
I think this has to be done in younger years though, so not sure about teenagers. My children (now 18 and 13) continually talk about how they loathe teenagers, and have a cynicism that rivals mine. Hahahahaha!
